IABCA 2010

...
Ataram was there too!! a future show Aza ?

International All Breed Canine Association - Canada Sieger 2010

...
We had a long and exhausting show weekend at IABCA Canada Sieger 2010 in Gananoque, Ont. with Bahama and Elkhir-ras (Ataram as a spectator).
Judges were:
  • Ms. Denys Janssen, FCI - Colombia (South America)
  • Ms. Pamela Bruce - CAN
  • Mr. Steve Dainard - CAN
  • Mr. James Covey - USA
Bahama got two CACIB (BoB) in ChampionKlasse, National UCI Championship, and graduated to EhrenKlasse; She got two CACH (BoB) and finished 3rd of group in Show 4.

At the end of the show, she won the BRIS (Best Rare in Show) by judges Covey and Dainard, and participated to the Grand Sieger (Best of Bests). We are very proud of her !

Elkhir-ras was in Jungend Klass: he got two SG-1 and two SG-2. Not too bad!

UKC Show Erin 2010: très décevant...

...

Elkhir-ras: 2x Best Male, 2x BoC, excusé au show 3.

Ataram Idiiyat-es-Sahel.. A New Home !

We are very honoured and thankfull to Daoud and Mimi. Ataram Idiiyat-es-Sahel has a new home... in the great Montreal area.
He is a 2,5 y.o. Azawakh male, from Idi Ilaman Afelahlah (Sire) and Tiwul Idiiyat-es-Sahel (Dam). Ataram is quite calm, self-confident and independent, affectionate and friendly.
Bred by Daoud in the desert, Ataram was homed at Mimi's ranch in northern California. I want to thank Mimi who received me to operate the transfer to Montreal... nice trip in California !

We hope (but quite sure) Ataram will have a happy life in Montreal !

Azawakh: Property Laws

...

If I like, It's mine
If it's in my mouth, It's mine...
If I had it a little while ago, It's mine...
If I can take it from you, It's mine.

If it's mine, it must never be yours...
If it just look like mine, It's mine...
If I saw it first, It's mine...

If you're playing with something else and put it down, It's mine...
If I am chewing something up, all of the pieces are mine...

If it used to be yours, get over it !
If it's broken, It's yours !

Reconnaissance (suite) / Recognition (continued)

Today we face two problems in regard to new canine purebreed recognition in Canada:

  • Agriculture Canada seems to have concerns with the CKC regognition procedure, particularly at the Breed eligibility level.
  • The CFC, who collects a large part of new canine purebreed recognition filing, has internal difficulties to finalize the recognition process with Agriculture Canada.

As a consequence, this recognition process may be quite "frozen" for a while.

The Azawakh breed recognition in Canada has been filed with the CFC. The final recognition process between the CFC and AC is pending. However, the Azawakh breed recognition in Canada is hardly to be reached soon.

Reconnaissance au/Recognition in Canada

In Canada, the recognition of a canadian canine purebreed is utimately managed and sanctioned by Agriculture Canada, thus defining the official list of canadien canine purebreed: http://www.agr.gc.ca/redmeat-vianderouge/brd_eng.htm
This recognition is processed in compliance with the Animal Pedigree Act (1985), and through the Canadian Livestock Records Corporation (as defined in the Law).
This recognition is done through a recognized association that manages the bree. In Canada, there are two major multi-breed associations:
